HIV Long Term Survivor Awareness Day Chat with Tez Anderson

#HLTSAD2019 and the importance of keeping the conversation going about the epidemic and aging population of heroes

Today, Napo Pharmaceuticals* presented a conversation between Tez Anderson of LetsKickAss.HIV and myself celebrating HIV Long Term Survivor Awareness Day, #HLTSAD2019.

Tez is an amazing activist that is dedicating his activist work to raising the awareness of isolation and survivors guilt that affects many of the individuals that have survived the epidemic for so long—becoming the living wisdom that we all should listen to, care for, and never forget because of their strength and the heavy burden that they carried and carry throughout the epidemic.

Today, empowered by Napo Pharmaceuticals, Tez and I participated in a 20-minute discussion to talk about the needs of HIV long term survivors—and how the “ending AIDS” cliche really sometimes minimizes the experiences of long term survivors of HIV and AIDS.

Thank you to Tez for participating and for Napo Pharmaceuticals for supporting conversations just like this.

*Disclosure: As always, I want to continue to be transparent with you all about any financial relationships that I have. Although, I am labeling this article as sponsored, because I am a social media consultant and Napo Pharmaceuticals is a client of my company (since that’s what I do for a living), they had no editorial influence over this article or the conversation. Prior to releasing the video, it did have one pass through their regulatory, legal, and medical offices to double check its accuracy and to make sure nobody got in trouble. This video completed that process without any edits or changes from Napo. How I am paid by Napo is simple: I am paid for my expertise relating to social media. Naturally, any ideas that I bring to them, I am excited to share on my imstilljosh channels because I want followers of those channels to see this content and conversations.
